Lamond is a wonderfully dedicated teacher with a wealth of teaching techniques, knowledge and flexibility.

Before Eilidh met Lamond, when she was in S1, she was learning violin in group lessons through the council music service, and she needed to improve basic skills, such as bow hold and posture. Eilidh was always a quiet, shy and not such a confident girl who likes structure to learn.

Eilidh learnt violin from Lamond for the last 6 years and, after each lesson, she brought home clear practice plans. This helped her improve her basics greatly.

During the last few years with Lamond, her violin sounds became clearer, and her playing started to shine with a good range of expressions. With Lamond’s continuous encouragement and positive approach, with a good learning structure to follow, she even achieved full marks for a grade 7 piece last year. She also achieved very high scores for all grade 8 pieces.

Playing the violin has become a big part of Eilidh’s life, and she feels good about playing the violin. Now she moved to Japan to live for a year, and she took her violin with her.

Lamond has greatly helped Eilidh to reach this point, and I would highly commend his teaching and support.
