I have been teaching violin students for over twenty years, both private tuition and as a member of the staff at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS), Junior Department. I greatly enjoy the challenges and rewards of teaching children and adults, where I see teaching as primarily an enabling practice open to anyone.

I have put students through Grade exams 1 – 8 with excellent results, mainly Merit or Distinction. I also enjoy teaching those who don’t have exams as a focus but are just interested in exploring violin playing.
